Sewn & Silent:

Writer/Director Jesyka Radvan presents an arresting futuristic gore film; where nothing is what it seems. Sewn & Silent, takes us deep into dark crevices which display the true possibilities of the human mind, body and soul.

The Story:

On November 18, 2012 the art of procreation and reproduction had ultimately changed for evermore; children became conceived in plastic bags. It was the duty of the elders to take care of the children; resembling orange mush in plastic bags- until they became fully developed. No form of mother or father was necessary and the plastic bag acted as the mother’s womb. The elder’s habitat resembled that of an alleyway cave, with graffiti in the background and turquoise, blue and cyan colours adorning the cave. One evening, a fierce earthquake struck which prompted all the elders to kill the children by bursting the plastic bags. Because of this sadistic act of defense, this generation of inhabitants grew up disgorged and uncharacteristic to that of their elder’s features.

In Sewn & Silent, It is here that we are introduced to this anomalous generation of humans which are portrayed as androgynous naked figures. They all share the same expression on their faces; one of sorrow and pain. The dismembering of their wombs has caused these figures immense pain in their adult life. Stones constantly form underneath their skin which calcify and become bigger with age; reminder of their past. It appears that the only way to remove these stones is to mutilate and dismember their flesh with metal instruments to alleviate their deforming bodies, yet this leaves ghastly scarring and atrophied skin. The figures psychologically breakdown from being ostracized by society and this influences them to start a massacre. This eruption of violence becomes the catalyst for the unleashing of horrendous torture. The figures begin to wreak havoc among the world’s ‘beautiful’ human beings as they desire to shove their own pain down pretty people’s throats and spread their disease.
